SIKH IMMERSION WITH YOGA

  • Day 01
    Day 01    Delhi

    Upon arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport you will be met by our representative and will be transferred to the hotel. Welcome reception. Overnight stay in Delhi.

  • Day 02
    Day 02    Delhi

    On this day you will discover the treasures of Delhi. We will start with a walking tour through the labyrinth of streets of Old Delhi. Following this we will stop at Rajghat, resting place of Mahatma Gandhi. Later on we will head towards the majestic and peaceful Sikh temple Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, where you will be able to enjoy the hospitality of the followers of this religion. We will continue our sighting visiting the India Gate and the President House, very important icons of the biggest democracy on Earth. Finally we will see the sunset from the wonderful Akshardham Temple, where we will enjoy of an incredible multimedia water show. Overnight stay in Delhi.

  • Day 03
    Day 03    Delhi – Amritsar

    Early in the morning (7.20am) we will take the Shatabdi Express towards the holy city of Amritsar. We will have breakfast on the train. Once in Amritsar we will check in at the hotel, have lunch and drive to the Wagah Border, which is located in the frontier with India and Pakistan. Here you will have the opportunity of experience a friendly ceremony where both countries show their abilities and skills to carry their flags and close the frontier for the day. After this intense ceremony we will go back to Amritsar and visit the magic and charming Golden Temple at night time, which is of incredible beauty and full of peaceful energy. This temple is the holiest place for Sikh followers and is visited by thousands of pilgrims every day. You will have an incredible evening listening the devotional songs that they are played in the temple and relax seating looking at the holy tank and the reflection of the golden Temple.   • Day 04
    Day 04    Amritsar – Dharamshala

    After breakfast we will visit again the Golden Temple with a guided tour to understand deeply the significance of this delightful place. Following this visit we will drive to the hillside city of Dharamsala, famous known as the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in exile. We will check in at the ashram and have a briefing with the yoga and meditation instructor (according to your level) to explain the activities to be taken in place the next following days. You will have the rest of the evening free to explore this beautiful and charming town located in the lower Himalayas. Overnight stay at the ashram in Dharamshala.

  • Day 05
    Day 05    Dharamshala

    In the early morning before breakfast we will practice a yoga lesson with a reputed yogi. After breakfast we will have a meditation session. You will have free time until lunch. During that time you can continue practicing yoga and meditation at the ashram if you wish. After a light meal you will be able to practice another guided yoga session and another meditation lesson. The rest of the evening you will have it free to walk around the streets of Dharamshala. Overnight stay at the ashram in Dharamshala.

  • Day 06
    Day 06    Dharamshala

    Today we will repeat our yoga and meditation lessons as the previous day. Overnight stay at the ashram in Dharamshala.

  • Day 07
    Day 07    Dharamshala – Anandpur Sahib

    After an early yoga session and breakfast we will departure towards Anandpur Sahib, the second holiest city for the Sikh religion after Amritsar. This city was founded by the ninth Sikh guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur in 1664. After checking in at the hotel we will visit the most important sights in the city, starting with the museum of Sikhism to understand better this faith: Virasat e Khalsa, which resembles a fortress and illustrates the 500 years of history of the Sikhs. After stopping for lunch we will visit the Gurdwara Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, where Khalsa was born and we will learn about these powerful warriors in depth. This beautiful temple stands on a small hill and counts with a water tank for pilgrims of 80 square meters where you will be able to spend some time and find peace listening the touching devotional music from the temple. The rest of the evening will be free for you to explore more temples if you wish or just wander around and experience the hospitality of the Sikhs. Overnight stay in Anandpur Sahib.

  • Day 08
    Day 08    Anandpur Sahib – Rishikesh

    Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will drive to Rishikesh: the World Capital of Yoga. We will check in at the ashram and will have a briefing with the yoga and meditation teacher (according to your level) to explain the activities to be taken in place the next following days. In the evening, around 6pm (at sunset) you will be able to attend to the famous Ganga Aarti ceremony, which is taken place along the banks of the Ganga river in the ghats of the town. Overnight stay at the ashram in Rishikesh.

  • Day 09
    Day 09    Rishikesh

    In the early morning before breakfast we will practice a yoga lesson with a reputed yogi from Rishikesh. After breakfast we will have a meditation session. You will have free time until lunch. During that time you can continue practicing yoga and meditation at the ashram if you wish. After a light meal you will be able to practice another guided yoga session and another meditation lesson.   • Day 11
    Day 11    Rishikesh – Delhi

    After our last yoga session and a delicious healthy breakfast, we will leave towards Delhi, where we will finish our services with a little farewell gift from Dhyanam India Tours.
