Option 1 – In the morning after breakfast we will start with a walking tour in old Delhi through the labyrinth of streets of this vibrant city. A former inhabitant of one of the slums of Old Delhi and tour guide of the NGO Salaam Baalak Trust will show us the best secrets of this part of the city and we will visit one of its centers at the end of the tour. Following the walking tour we will stop for lunch and we will continue with a sightseeing tour of New Delhi, visiting the Gandhi Memorial, India Gate and the President House, all of them very important icons of the biggest democracy on Earth. We will drive towards the mausoleum precursor of the Taj Mahal: Humayun’s Tomb, an architectonic masterpiece. Here we will find a haven of peace within this busy city and will enjoy its idyllic gardens and a beautiful sunset. Finally we will visit the magnificent mosque of Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah where you can treat your senses listening qawwali music, the devotional sufi songs that will transport you to a dream world.
Option 2 – In the morning after breakfast we will start with a visit to the impressive Red Fort, a World Heritage Site and which reflects the splendor and power of the Mughal Empire in India during the 17th century. You will amaze yourself with the walls that surround the fort which are 18 meters high. Next we will visit the huge Jama Masjid Mosque, the largest mosque in the country and which can accommodate up to 25,000 people. It will be followed by a stop for lunch and we will continue with a sightseeing tour of New Delhi, visiting the Gandhi Memorial, the India Gate and the President House, all of them very important icons of the biggest democracy on Earth. We will drive towards the precursor of the Taj Mahal: Humayun’s Tomb, an architectonic masterpiece. Here we will find a haven of peace within this busy city and will enjoy the idyllic gardens and a beautiful sunset.
