After breakfast, your Lhasa sightseeing tour begins with a visit to the Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Tibet’s most iconic landmarks. Perched on Marpo Ri Hill, this stunning palace was the winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Explore its intricately decorated rooms, chapels, and the sacred Red Palace, gaining a deeper understanding of Tibetan history and culture.

Next, head to the Norbulingka Palace, another UNESCO site. Known as the "Treasure Park", this serene summer retreat of the Dalai Lamas features beautiful gardens, pavilions, and the ornate Khamsum Zilnon Temple.

Today, drive from Lhasa to Shigatse, a scenic journey through the Tibetan Plateau. The 270-kilometer drive takes about 5-6 hours, passing through mountain passes, winding roads, and vast plains, with panoramic views of the Himalayas.

Upon arrival in Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city, visit the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, one of the most significant sites in Tibetan Buddhism. Founded by the First Dalai Lama in 1447, the monastery features stunning architecture with golden roofs and white walls.

Explore the chapels, halls, and courtyards top-up with intricate murals and statues. The highlight is the 85-foot statue of Maitreya, the Future Buddha, beautifully adorned with gold, jewels, and silk.
